Gone Girl by
Gillian Flynn
My rating:
4 of 5 stars
A fascinating, engrossing, and enjoyable deconstruction of identity in relationships. While the actual plot may strain belief, it works brilliantly as a hyperbolic metaphor for the masks we wear with those we love.
It's also really funny and thrilling, with gorgeous and honest and sharp details throughout, written in clear and direct prose with impressive voices and shades of character crucial to a tricky story.
A very cool book.
