Review: Willful Machines

Willful Machines Willful Machines by Tim Floreen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While somewhat similar to the graphic novel and webcomic Artifice by Alex Woolfson and Winona Nelson, Willful Machines certainly stands on its own as a lovely and exciting YA science fiction adventure with compelling gay teen characters, a cool, visual boarding school setting, and intriguing philosophical and metaphysical ideas. I loved the cute and scary robots, both the whimsical critters and the almost human. It's sweet and (lightly) sexy, enjoyable, and tightly plotted.
